PEDIATRIC CARDIOLOGY OF OKLAHOMA Our mission is to provide a professional medical service of the highest quality for the detction and treatment of congenital heart disease. To aid in the diagnosis and management of both acquired and congenital heart disease, we offer a broad range of services. We schedule complete appointments which consist of the following: APPOINTMENT TYPES Full Visits: A full visit may include an echocardiogram, an electrocardiogram and an evaluation by one of our providers. The echocardiogram is performed by our sonographers, and the EKG and office visit is with a provider, so that you receive all test results or diagnosis the same day. Fast Track Echocardiograms, Electrocardiograms and Holters: A fast track echocardiogram or electrocardiogram is often ordered if your primary care physician has a specific question they want answered but they do not feel a visit with one of our providers is necessary. We schedule these EKGs and Echocardiograms by themselves. The referring physicians send patients to our office for the tests only and then the results are sent back to the primary care/referring doctor within 24 hours. These appointments can usually be scheduled within 24-48 business hours when requested. Not only does this allow for a quick diagnosis but it can often alleviate the anxiety associated with waiting for a formal evaluation by a cardiologist. If a serious defect is noted, the patient is then worked into the clinic that day prior to evaluation. If a defect is seen but does not require immediate evaluation, results and recommendations for follow-up are sent to your referring provider. Therapeutic Cardiac Catheterization: We have one physician, Dr. Matthew Kimberling, whose expertise includes therapeutic cardiac catheterization. He performs pediatric heart catheterizationss weekly here in the St. Francis Heart Hosptial Cath Lab. | ||||
